SIMUMAT  courses and conferences in “Inverse problems in PDEs’’

CIEM, Castro Urdiales, Cantabría, Spain, July 6-11, 2009.

The aim of this school is to instruct young mathematicians in topics related to the fascinating area  of inverse problems in partial differential equations. Inverse problem has become one of the main streams of actual research in partial differential equations, partly because models the various versions of tomography and specially in medical imaging.

The school takes the form of a series of lectures by leading experts in several aspects of inverse problems. The structure of the lectures is designed so that it might be useful for a broad audience, presenting an introduction to the topics but also some of the recent developments. The emphasis of the school will be on the PDE side off the subject but there will be also activities at the laboratory where the practical side of the subject is shown and developed by the participants.

The following themes will be addressed:

  • Elliptic Problems
  •  Maxwell equations
  • Interior measurements
  • Regularization methods.

There will be also some sessions to the Inverse Problems in SIMUMAT where the main fields of interest

in our group will be shown.

We get the following activities:

  • Courses introducing basic aspects of the mathematical of PDEs in inverse problems.
  • Laboratory where implement mathematical techniques.
  • Single Talks with the recent developements.
  • Introduction to Inverse Problems in Simumat

Organizers:

    • Daniel Faraco, ICMat-UAM.   daniel.faraco (at) uam.es
    • Alberto Ruiz, UAM.    alberto.ruiz (at) uam.es
